Students at Napier Central School have joined forces with Napier Port to build 24 penguin nesting boxes that will be used in New Zealand’s first on-port penguin sanctuary for the kororā or little blue penguin.
An initiative to improve the safety of motorists, pedestrians and cyclists at Napier Port’s heavily congested western entrance will reach completion this Sunday 31 March, following the installation of new traffic lights on Breakwater Road.
Napier Port’s container terminal will be open as usual on Good Friday and Easter Saturday, and closed Easter Sunday, Easter Monday and Anzac Day.
Napier Port’s log yard is busier than ever, as high volumes of logs cross our wharves for export. Keeping everyone safe on port is our top priority, and we need to work together to make that happen.
From 4th March 2019, we will be making changes to inward lanes at the Western Gate and loading zones to prepare for the peak season.
