Annual Tariff Schedule Review
Kia ora Christopher,
Napier Port is changing some of the fees for the services we offer and holding some at current levels, effective from 01 October 2024.
Tariff Review
We have conducted our annual tariff review and can confirm that the majority of items on the tariff schedule will increase by 6.8% effective from 01 October 2024.
From 01 October 2024, the updated Napier Port tariff schedule, along with our terms and conditions, can be found on our website here. You can view and download the new tariff schedule here.
The new rates apply to tariff only. If your company has a current contract or service level agreement with Napier Port your contracted rates will prevail, except in instances whereby your contract directs to public tariff for pricing.
Infrastructure Levy
The Bulk Infrastructure Levy will remain $0.70 after an increase on 1 January 2024. The Infrastructure Levy on Container TEU will increase from $52.50 to $61.20, effective 01 October 2024.
Fuel Adjustment Factor (FAF)
The fuel adjustment factor (FAF) will continue to be calculated on a monthly basis, and thus is not affected by the annual tariff review.
Insurance Adjustment Factor (IAF)
As advised in June (communication here), we have increased the IAF by 7.5% on our public tariff schedule, effective 01 September 2024.
Vehicle Booking System (VBS)
The vehicle booking system (VBS) tariff will remain $20 per container.
Smartflow (Eastern Gate)
Our Smartflow project, aimed at streamlining the pre-advising processes for bulk cargo trucks at our Eastern Gate, went live on 1 July 2024. A new tariff item was implemented at $15 per vehicle, and will be reviewed on 01 October 2025.
Reefer on Power
Due to cost increases in electricity supply, this tariff item will increase from $75.10 to $90.
All charges are outlined in our Tariff Schedule, available through the link above.

Sustainability aligned with global goals:
At the United Nations summit meeting in September 2015, world leaders adopted 17 global goals (and 169 targets) as a set of universal goals that aim to address the urgent environmental, political and economic challenges facing our world. These are known as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
