The Asset Data Technician is a key member of our Assets and Infrastructure team, responsible for compiling data to track and manage the condition and configuration of our asset portfolio. Whether assisting our engineers with complex design drawings in AutoCAD or creating digital environments that mirror our physical assets, this role offers diversity and is ideal for someone who is creative and open to exciting challenges. 

We have an established GIS system that has successfully enhanced our business outcomes. As we look to the future, we aim to further develop this capability even further to extract its maximum value. While the system primarily focuses on asset information, we have extended its benefits to our Environmental, Health & Safety, and operational teams. 

We are seeking an experienced GIS specialist with a strong background in AutoCAD and design to lead the development of GIS within our organisation, while also maintaining the system and spatial data. 

Key responsibilities:  

  • Manage and maintain the GIS system.  
  • Assist with the creation and delivery of Auto CAD drafting and design. 
  • Deliver high-quality maps to support organisational decision-making.  
  • Conduct spatial analysis for development, infrastructure investment, and project management.  
  • Develop and maintain GIS-based portals and apps.  
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement.  
  • Champion health and safety, supporting a Just Safety culture.  

About You:  

  • Demonstrated proficiency in the development of GIS environments. 
  • Intermediate level experience in AutoCAD.

Our Fleet Services Group is responsible for servicing a diverse fleet, including mobile harbour cranes, heavy forklifts, container handlers, trucks, trailers, and utility vehicles. As an Apprentice Mechanic, you will receive support from experienced trade-qualified staff and learning providers. 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Engage in both hands-on and theory-based learning and assessment. 
  • Gain practical experience in our Port workshop, working alongside qualified professionals. 
  • Pursue an NZQA accredited automotive heavy equipment trade qualification. 

What We’re Looking For: 

  • Technical school qualifications (NCEA Level 2 in Maths, Physics, English, etc.). 
  • A relevant pre-trade qualification. 
  • Relevant work experience (automotive, mechanical, engineering, electronics). 
  • Minimum Class 1 license.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will lead and manage complex engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. 

Key priorities of the role include: 

  • Lead the planning, design, and execution of port infrastructure projects. 
  • Manage project teams, including contractors and consultants, to ensure successful project delivery. 
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans. 
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations. 
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies. 
  • Liaise with stakeholders, including government agencies, clients, and community groups. 
  • Prepare and present project reports and updates to senior management. 
  • Helping to ensure we meet our resource consent conditions and that our project management plans are followed.  

What we’re looking for: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. 
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in project engineering, with at least 2 years in a senior role. 
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale infrastructure projects, preferably in a port or maritime environment. 
  • Strong knowledge of engineering principles, construction methods, and project management practices. 
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools. 
  • Advanced MS Excel skills  
  • An understanding of construction contracts 
  • AutoCAD experience is desirable  
  • Experience in the supervision of dredging activities is desirable
