Are you ready to be a vital part of Napier Port, the primary port in central New Zealand? Join our dynamic team in a 24/7 operational environment, where no two days are alike. We are currently seeking a motivated individual for the role of Terminal Services Coordinator to join our Container Terminal Gate, Rail and Depot team for a fixed period. We are looking for someone with availability from mid February till the end of May.

A passion for excellent customer service in a dynamic industry is required to be successful in this role. Experience in the transport or shipping industry would also be preferred. 

Key priorities for the role include:

  • Container dispatch to truck for Import 
  • Container receipt by truck for export
  • Coordinating Container Co. (NZL/UCL) movements in conjunction with Logistics
  • Testing Gate functions for N4 upgrades
  • Knowledge of Gate Systems (Propel Import/Export/VBS/Mobile) for Customer Service
  • Operational delivery and improving customer value
  • Health and safety – Zero Harm workplace through a Just Safety Culture

About you:

  • Excellent communication skills and confidence in dealing with external and internal stakeholders
  • A team player that can work collaboratively
  • Flexible and the ability to prioritise workload
  • Experience in the transport or shipping industry would be an advantage

The Commercial Analyst is a member of the Commercial team, reporting to the General Manager, Commercial. The commercial team is the key voice of the customer within the port, working to improve our solutions, processes and systems to enhance the overall customer experience and drive prosperity across the region.

The Commercial Analyst is responsible for analysing and reporting Commercial business intelligence combined with supporting the Commercial team’s core team functions which include reporting, administration, analytics, customer support, contract development and supply chain process. 

Key priorities for the role include:

  • Undertaking commercially driven analysis of business and customer activity
  • Implementing, developing and maintaining robust business intelligence reporting to measure commercial and customer performance
  • Supporting existing customers and contributing to improving customer value
  • Supporting Finance Team reporting in trade volume budgeting, reforecasting and reporting processes
  • Assisting the Commercial Team in the development of supply chain solutions
  • Supporting Commercial projects, opportunities and day to day activities 
  • Collaborating across various business functions to support and improve Port initiatives
  • Supporting continuous process improvement and compliance 
  • Participating in industry forums, building strong networks and professional relationships
  • Championing an engaged agile culture that supports a Just Safety culture 

Successful candidates will have a relevant tertiary/supply chain qualification, with experience in logistics and will be proficient in business intelligence tools such as Microsoft Power BI. They will also be a quick learner, able to multitask and have excellent communication and relationship skills.
