For Jay, working at Napier Port combines two things he’s always been passionate about: the environment and the outdoors. In his role, no two days are the same. While much of his work focuses on environmental compliance, he also responds to unexpected situations, from spills to wildlife interactions, helping ensure the Port operates safely and sustainably.
Jay also supports the Port’s penguin sanctuary and monitoring the local penguin population, alongside other important environmental initiatives. He is passionate about protecting the environment and values that this is a priority to the Port.
He also appreciates the people and culture at Napier Port. Stepping into a leadership role while his manager was on parental leave gave him the opportunity to work more closely with teams across the business and build strong connections.
