Destination triathlon makes its mark

It was a fantastic turn out on a stunning day for the first ever Napier Port Harbour to Hills triathlon.

Napier Port is the proud primary sponsor of this event – a new destination triathlon that spans 118 kilometres and takes in some of Hawke’s Bay’s most picturesque landscapes.

Run in partnership with TriHB, the inaugural event attracted 387 athletes of all levels, including amateur and professional, local, national and international.

It received rave reviews across the board, with elite triathlon coach and former Olympian Sam Warriner labelling the bike course one of the best in the world.

The inaugural Napier Port Harbour to Hills brought around 150 people and over $75,000 to Hawke’s Bay. This impact is expected to increase, as the event grows in popularity.
