Fisheries Liaison Group – draft minutes of meeting 13 June 2019 available
The Fisheries Liaison Group, a group of commercial and recreational fishers, divers and Napier Port representatives, met on Thursday 13 June 2019.
The draft minutes from the meeting can be found here.
Led by Independent Chair Eileen von Dadelszen, the group was established following the approval of Napier Port’s resource consents to build a new wharf and carry out further dredging and disposal so more and larger ships can berth at Napier Port as the region grows.
One of the group’s first tasks is to provide input into three management plans Napier Port is producing to ensure it has strong plans and effective monitoring in place to protect the water quality and ensure the fishing stock is not impacted as a result of disposal and dredging.

Sustainability aligned with global goals:
At the United Nations summit meeting in September 2015, world leaders adopted 17 global goals (and 169 targets) as a set of universal goals that aim to address the urgent environmental, political and economic challenges facing our world. These are known as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
More information on the SDGs and how Napier Port’s Sustainability Strategy aligns to these can be found here >>
