Important Update: Napier Port R&D Hours of Operation and Six-day Receival Window Changes
April 10th, 2024
Kia ora,
Following the recent swell events at Napier and as we approach our busiest months, we are working hard to re-establish berth windows over the coming weeks. In order to do this, our team will be implementing some changes necessary to balance cargo flow, and proactively manage our resources and the capacity of the terminal.
Six-day Receival Window will be locked out after six days
Our receival window will remain at six days prior to vessel arrival, but it will no longer extend if a ship is delayed. Once the six days has concluded, the ship will be fully Cut Off and locked out. This change will enable us to move long-stay containers.
Saturday R&D closed from this weekend
Saturday R&D utilisation has been low, so we intend to close this service until further notice and prioritise this labour to the vessel. In order to accommodate this change, we will be extending our Friday R&D hours to 2300 hours to allow for additional late gate receivals.
From Friday 12 April 2024, our hours of operation will be as follows:

Napier Port offers a Monday to Friday late process for the collection of import full containers or drop off of export containers, provided that the following conditions are met:
The export container has been pre-advised through Propel Export Pre-Advice Portal or business-to-business EDI messaging by 5:00pm.
The import container to be collected is a specific nominated container and not a hazardous or out of gauge container (no block stack containers).
The container has a Propel VBS booking, with a truck registration included in Propel by 5:00pm.
The truck enters through Port Security at the Eastern Gate (Marine Parade end) from 5:40pm onwards.
There is no late process for Empty Returns.
If you have any questions, please contact Napier Port’s Western Gate Team – WestG@napierport.co.nz.

At the United Nations summit meeting in September 2015, world leaders adopted 17 global goals (and 169 targets) as a set of universal goals that aim to address the urgent environmental, political and economic challenges facing our world. These are known as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
