Important Update: Six Day Reefer Receival Window – Effective Tomorrow, 24 March 2026
March 23rd, 2026
Kia ora,
Our priority is ensuring that all containerised imports and exports continue to flow efficiently through Napier Port, particularly as we move through a busy period.
With ongoing pressure on capacity and continued schedule variability, we are making a temporary adjustment to our reefer receival window.
Effective from tomorrow – Tuesday 24 March, we will only accept reefer containers up to six days prior to the arrival of the vessel on which the container is booked and confirmed. This change will remain in place through to Tuesday 7 April, covering the Easter period.
This decision has been made to help actively manage yard utilisation and maintain the efficient flow of refrigerated cargo through the terminal during this period.
We appreciate this is a change to current practice and thank you for your cooperation in supporting the smooth movement of cargo across the supply chain.
Ngā mihi,
Adam Harvey David Kriel Chief Operating Officer GM Commercial
At the United Nations summit meeting in September 2015, world leaders adopted 17 global goals (and 169 targets) as a set of universal goals that aim to address the urgent environmental, political and economic challenges facing our world. These are known as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
