We are approaching the end of week two under the current alert level four restrictions and the National State of Emergency, and the changing COVID-19 environment continues to challenge us all. Our COVID-19 Response has required us to make necessary adjustments to our operations and operational resources in order to ensure we keep cargo flowing through the port. We know that keeping our people healthy and well for work and safe at work is an essential part of this process.
After our COVID-19 Response update last week, we have been in touch with a number of our customers and transport operators. We have listened to your feedback about our hours of operation and consequently made some immediate changes to enable an additional 350 VBS slots per week.
Our revised hours of operation will help our customers work more efficiently during the lockdown period. And also allow our people to continue to operate safely, and in line with the Ministry of Health guidelines, by providing sufficient time for shift changes without team crossover, as well as time for vehicle and equipment disinfection processes.
