Shipping restrictions expected: Winter swell event arriving at Napier
Please be aware that Hawkes Bay is currently experiencing a winter swell event that is forecast to impact shipping. Due to the current level of swell, vessels will have to trim cargo to enable temporary draft restrictions to be met as a matter of safety, and in some cases the vessels may have to wait out the swell at anchor to be safe.
We do appreciate that this poses potential changes to planned shipping from your perspective. We are working to do everything possible from our side to continue to safely work vessels and keep trade volumes flowing. The situation is reasonably dynamic and as such changes to our berth schedules will be updated as and when we receive them. The schedule can be accessed from our website at the following link: https://www.napierport.co.nz/quick-links/shipping-schedule/
Thank you in advance for your understanding and rest assured our teams will be working hard to manage this event as efficiently as possible.
We will be sure to be in touch with any further updates.
Ngā mihi,
David Kriel

Sustainability aligned with global goals:
At the United Nations summit meeting in September 2015, world leaders adopted 17 global goals (and 169 targets) as a set of universal goals that aim to address the urgent environmental, political and economic challenges facing our world. These are known as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
More information on the SDGs and how Napier Port’s Sustainability Strategy aligns to these can be found here >>
