Suspension of Six-Day Container Receival Window
For the past several years, Napier Port has implemented an export container receival window, to help us better manage on-port container storage affected by shipping disruption and space availability.
From Monday 1 August 2022, we are pleased to advise that we are suspending the six-day container receival window for exports for the next five months. Containerised cargo can now be stored on port from a time convenient to the cargo owner.
Please ensure you check with your shipping line prior to bringing containers to the port early, as they may have their own specific rules in place.
It is our intention to reinstate the six-day receival window for all containerised cargo from 1 January 2023, most likely until 31 July 2023. We will advise the exact dates of the receival window reinstatement closer to the time.
If you have any questions about this change, please contact Napier Port’s Commercial team – Dominic Sutherland on dominics@napierport.co.nz or Henri Purvis on henrip@napierport.co.nz.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Ngā mihi,
Chris Wylie

Sustainability aligned with global goals:
At the United Nations summit meeting in September 2015, world leaders adopted 17 global goals (and 169 targets) as a set of universal goals that aim to address the urgent environmental, political and economic challenges facing our world. These are known as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
