Weather Update: Napier Port closure extends 24 hours
Kia ora,
Following yesterday’s port closure update, Napier Port has made the decision to extend its port closure until tomorrow midday – Wednesday 15 February. A state of emergency has been declared across the Hawke’s Bay and the weather is causing ongoing disruptions to our community.
The weather has impacted a number of areas at the port over night and our infrastructure team are busy making safety assessments and organising repairs where possible.
Port Closure Information
All port sites will now remain closed until 1200 midday tomorrow – Wednesday 15 Febuary.
This includes the Eastern Gate, Western Gate, Container Terminal and Thames Street Depots 1 and 2.
Reopening Assessment
Napier Port will be making a further operational assessment tomorrow morning about the reopening times for each site above and will update you accordingly.
Thank you for your understanding and stay safe.
Ngā mihi,

Sustainability aligned with global goals:
At the United Nations summit meeting in September 2015, world leaders adopted 17 global goals (and 169 targets) as a set of universal goals that aim to address the urgent environmental, political and economic challenges facing our world. These are known as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
