We’re reinstating our seven day container receival window
Our priority is ensuring that all containerised imports and exports can continue to flow through Napier Port during busy times, particularly during our traditional export peak season.
With an increase in container volumes forecast, we have reviewed our export receival windows. From 6:00am on Monday 15 February, we will only accept containers seven days out from the arrival of the vessel on which that container is booked and confirmed. With significant schedule unreliability still occurring due to ongoing congestion in Auckland and Australian ports it may be necessary to further reduce this export receival window later in the export peak season. Any decision will not be made lightly and will be well communicated in advance to allow effective planning for all in the supply chain.
We have taken this decision (which is consistent with procedures at other NZ ports) to ensure we are actively managing the flow of cargo through the port.

Sustainability aligned with global goals:
At the United Nations summit meeting in September 2015, world leaders adopted 17 global goals (and 169 targets) as a set of universal goals that aim to address the urgent environmental, political and economic challenges facing our world. These are known as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
