We are holding a trial with all Pan Pac logging trucks tomorrow between 5:00AM – 11:00AM at 7 Shed to identify a central unchaining location at Napier Port. This is part of our commitment to keep everyone safe while working on port.
This trial will affect all log trucks entering the main log yards at 1 Wharf and 2 North. We have trialled this location before, and tomorrow we will test the traffic flow in the area to ensure it moves smoothly for our customers. Consequently, we will not divert other traffic from the area (as we have done with previous trials).
What you need to do
As stated, the trial is on Thursday 20 August 2020 between 5:00AM – 11:00AM and only involves Pan Pac logging trucks. All other logging trucks should use their current unchaining facilities until notified. Further details about the bark clearing area are below.
Instruction for Pan Pac logging trucks
1. Enter Napier Port via Main Security on Marine Parade and follow the normal route down the main thoroughfare (see the Traffic Management Plan below).
2. Just after the 2 Wharf office, veer left and follow the traffic cones.
3. General Cargo staff will be positioned around the area and will direct you into an unchain bay.
4. Please do not flick your chains during this trial as this is prohibited at Napier Port.
Please note, all other traffic that needs to access 7 Shed will also use this route.

1. Please unchain your load in the normal location.
2. The bark clearing area will be moved for the trial and will be positioned where the current C3 trucks unchain.
3. A back up bark clearing area will be available for all log trucks, along with vehicles exiting F Area.
