Biosecurity

Protecting our borders

Napier Port is a key gateway into and out of New Zealand.

All passengers and cargo coming into Napier Port must be found to comply with the biosecurity requirements of the New Zealand Customs Service and the New Zealand Ministry for Primary Industries.

As part of our commitment to protect New Zealand’s borders, Napier Port monitors for invasive species such as the Mediterranean fanworm and styela clava.

For more information about biosecurity requirements, please visit the Ministry for Primary Industries website.

Napier Port is a Customs-Controlled Area. Be aware that Customs Officers and Customs dogs regularly patrol on site.
