Annual Tariff Schedule Review FY23

Napier Port is changing some of the fees for the services we offer, effective from 1 October 2022.

Tariff Review
We have conducted our annual tariff review and can confirm that the majority of items on the tariff schedule will increase by 8% effective from 1 October 2022.

From 1 October 2022, the updated Napier Port tariff schedule, along with our terms and conditions, can be found on our website here. You can view and download the new tariff schedule here.

The new rates apply to tariff only. If your company has a current contract or service level agreement with Napier Port your contracted rates will prevail, except in instances whereby your contract directs to public tariff for pricing.

Insurance Adjustment Factor (IAF)
Due to increasing costs of Napier Port’s insurance we have increased the IAF on our public tariff schedule, effective 01 October. IAF rates have increased by 12%. The new rates are detailed on the PDF available through the link above.

Infrastructure Levy
We continue to maintain and invest in critical infrastructure to ensure delivery of the ports current and future capabilities for the region. The most notable investment being our new wharf, Te Whiti, which was officially opened in July.  This was a huge milestone for the Port and our customers as Te Whiti increases our resilience and provides greater opportunity to connect to global markets.

For our next financial year, we have decided to keep the infrastructure levy at the current levels. This means that the Infrastructure Levy for containerised cargo will remain at $52.50 per TEU (charged to shipping lines) and the Infrastructure Levy for bulk cargoes will remain at $0.40 per revenue tonne (charged to cargo owners). Quoted rates exclude GST.

Fuel Adjustment Factor (FAF)
The fuel adjustment factor (FAF) will continue to be calculated on a monthly basis, and thus is not affected by the annual tariff review.

Thames Street Vehicle Booking System (VBS)
Napier Port will be introducing a VBS for the Thames Street container depots in the coming months, expected to be operational late this year, or early 2023.

Our strategic purpose to work for our region remains unchanged. Despite the challenges, now more than ever, we are focused on maintaining and strengthening our global connections that are fundamental to linking Hawke’s Bay and New Zealand’s central and lower North Island supply chain to the world.

    Sustainability aligned with global goals:

At the United Nations summit meeting in September 2015, world leaders adopted 17 global goals (and 169 targets) as a set of universal goals that aim to address the urgent environmental, political and economic challenges facing our world. These are known as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
