Napier Port is changing some of the fees for the services we offer, effective from 1 October 2020.
Tariff Schedule
We have recently conducted our annual tariff rate schedule review. Like any business, the Port’s operating costs have risen in the past year. Our annual review has resulted in a small increase to tariff rates, effective from 1 October 2020. This rate change represents an approximate 3% increase across most tariff item lines.
These rate adjustments apply to tariff rates only. If your company has a current contract or service level agreement with Napier Port your contracted rates will not be affected by this change, except in instances whereby the contract directs to public tariff for pricing.
Insurance Adjustment Factor (IAF) As you may recall, our insurance costs rose by 25% last year. At that time, Napier Port was able to absorb some of the increase, and in addition defer any increase to our customers for four months – from 1 October 2019 to 1 February 2020.
Unfortunately, our insurance premium has had another significant increase this year of 22%, effective 1 July 2020. With other factors also impacting on our business, we are unable to absorb this increase and therefore must adjust the IAF rates in line with the increase to our insurance premium.
Therefore, from 1 October 2020 adjusted IAF rates will be as follows:
CONTAINERISED CARGO
$7.23 +GST per TEU, charged to container shipping lines
BULK CARGO
$0.65 +GST per revenue tonne/kilolitre/JASCBM/M3, charged to shippers
CRUISE
$1830 +GST per vessel < 220m LOA
$2867 +GST per vessel 221 < 289m LOA
$3904 +GST per vessel 290 < 348m LOA
POA Vessels > 348m LOA
