The region’s primary producers gathered last night for the Napier Port Hawke’s Bay Primary Sector Awards 2018. The annual awards celebrate excellence, leadership and innovation across this sector.
“Hawke’s Bay is driven by the primary sector,” said Napier Port CEO Todd Dawson. “When this sector is growing and succeeding, our port and our economy are too. That’s one of the reasons Napier Port is passionate about supporting local industry and celebrating innovation.”
“We’re really proud to sponsor the Napier Port Hawke’s Bay Primary Sector Awards,” said Todd. “It’s a great night that recognises some outstanding talent, commitment and success amongst our farmers, foresters and the rural professionals who support them.”
“We congratulate all those who won on the night, and everyone who took the leap and entered the awards. And, of course, we’re looking forward to seeing more of their top quality farm and forest exports coming through the port!”
This year’s awards ran across seven categories; Silver Fern Farms Hawke’s Bay Farmer of the Year; Pan Pac Hawke’s Bay Farm Forester of the Year; Bayleys Primary Sector Professional of the Year; Hastings District Council Primary Industry Leader of the Year; BWR Primary Sector Innovation Award; the Lawson Robinson Hawke’s Bay A&P Scholarship; and the Laurie Dowling Memorial Award.
