Napier Port is composed of many different teams, working together to deliver the best results possible.

In such a complex business, our hours of operation vary by department. If you’re trying to contact or visit us, it pays to check we’re available first.

Main Office

Monday – Friday:
7:00am – 5:00pm

Public holidays

Services will not be provided on statutory public holidays. Days defined as statutory holidays are: New Year’s Day, Day after New Year’s Day, Waitangi Day, Easter Friday, Easter Monday, Anzac Day, Queen’s Birthday, Matariki, Hawke’s Bay Anniversary Day, Labour Day, Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

Container Terminal

Monday – Friday:
7:00am – 4:30pm (full service)
4:40pm – 7:00pm (Monday – Friday late process – see below)

Saturday:
Closed.

Sunday:
Closed.

Public holidays:
R&D services will not be provided on statutory public holidays. Days defined as statutory holidays are: New Year’s Day, Day after New Year’s Day, Waitangi Day, Easter Friday, Easter Monday, ANZAC Day, Queen’s Birthday, Matariki, Hawke’s Bay Anniversary Day, Labour Day, Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

MONDAY – THURSDAY LATE PROCESS – ZONES 18 & 19
(Security Gate closes at 2000 to container trucks)

FRIDAY ONLY LATE PROCESS – ZONES 18, 19, 20, 21 & 22
(Security Gate closes at 2300 to container trucks)

Napier Port offers a late process of  import and export containers, provided that the following conditions are met:

  • The export container has been pre-advised through the Propel Export Pre-Advice Portal or business-to-business EDI messaging by 5:00pm
  • The export container must have a CEDO by 5:00pm.
  • The container has a Propel VBS booking, with a truck registration included in Propel by 5:00pm
  • The import container to be collected is a specific nominated container and not a hazardous or out of gauge container (no block stack containers)
  • The truck enters through Port Security at the Eastern Gate (Marine Parade end) from 5:40pm onwards.

There is no late process for empty returns.

Thames Street Empty Container Depots I and II

Monday – Friday:
7:00am – 4:30pm

Saturday:
Closed.

Sunday:
Closed.

Public holidays:

Port Pack

Monday – Friday:
7:00am – 5:00pm
Cargo delivery cut-off (doors closed): 4:30pm

Saturday and Sunday:
Closed.

Marine and Mooring

Our Marine and Mooring operation runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Its only closure is from 11:59pm Christmas Eve until 6:00am Boxing Day.
