Fisheries Liaison Group – draft minutes of meeting 29 July 2020 available
August 10th, 2020
The Fisheries Liaison Group, a group of commercial and recreational fishers, divers and Napier Port representatives, met on Wednesday 29 July 2020.
The draft minutes from the meeting can be found here.
Led by Independent Chair Eileen von Dadelszen, the group was established following the approval of Napier Port’s resource consents to build a new wharf and carry out further dredging and disposal so more and larger ships can berth at Napier Port as the region grows.
The group is working with Napier Port to ensure it has strong plans and effective monitoring in place to protect the water quality and ensure the fishing stock is not impacted as a result of disposal and dredging during the 6 Wharf Project.
At the United Nations summit meeting in September 2015, world leaders adopted 17 global goals (and 169 targets) as a set of universal goals that aim to address the urgent environmental, political and economic challenges facing our world. These are known as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
