Important Container Receival Window Update
Our priority is ensuring that all containerised imports and exports can continue to flow through Napier Port during busy times, particularly during the current export peak season.
Due to continued schedule unreliability, we are no longer able to accept any dry or reefer containers prior to their seven-day container receival window opens. Certain exemptions have been made to date and this will no longer be possible. This new process is effective immediately – today Friday 19 March, and will continue until further notice.
Shipping Schedule Reminder
To assist with the VBS booking process, please remember there is an Export Receival Open column available on the Napier Port Shipping Schedule here. This information will let you review the container receival time for each vessel and see when the seven day window is open. Please note, these times will be subject to change as per the normal shipping schedule changes.
If you need to reference our previous communication advising the introduction of the current seven-day window please find them here and here.
If you have any technical questions about making a Propel VBS booking, please contact Napier Port’s Western Gate Team – WestG@napierport.co.nz.
If you have any questions about this update, please contact Napier Port’s Commercial team – Andrew Palairet on andrewp@napierport.co.nz or Dominic Sutherland on dominics@napierport.co.nz.

Sustainability aligned with global goals:
At the United Nations summit meeting in September 2015, world leaders adopted 17 global goals (and 169 targets) as a set of universal goals that aim to address the urgent environmental, political and economic challenges facing our world. These are known as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
More information on the SDGs and how Napier Port’s Sustainability Strategy aligns to these can be found here >>
