Important Update: Change to Napier Port Container Receival Process

We are implementing an update to our container receival process to streamline operations and improve consistency for both our customers and teams. This shift from our previous process aligns with shipping line requirements and is designed to further enhance our efficient, reliable service. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we make this change.
Overview of the New Receival Process
Starting 1 January 2025, the following process will be in place for all shipping line services:
New 7-Day Export Receival Window
The receival window for export containers will open seven days prior to vessel arrival.
Cargo Cut-Off
Cargo cut-offs will continue to be set for the day before vessel arrival. All exports must be pre-advised with a valid CEDO by 1600 hours (1700 during the season) on the day prior to vessel arrival, even if the container has been accepted as a Late Receival. This timing ensures that all cargo is processed effectively and aligns with vessel schedules.
Requests for Early Receival
We understand that certain circumstances may require exceptions to the 7-day rule. As directed by the lines, for early receival requests, in the first instance please contact your shipping line in writing to receive agreement on your containers being received early at Napier Port. Once agreement is received from the line please email this to our new dedicated email address: earlyreceival@napierport.co.nz. Please include the vessel/voyage, export booking number and all container numbers. Our team will work together to try and accommodate each request, subject to operational demands at that time.
