Napier Port is pleased to confirm that mains power has been restored across the port this afternoon. We are now in the process of recommencing full operations and supporting the region and cargo owners to keep cargo flowing.

R&D in the Container Terminal
From 1400 today, we have now opened the Western Gate for export refrigerated container acceptance and this will continue going forward. Our full R&D services hours of operations as below:

Export Refrigerated Container Acceptance: Open 0700 – 1730, Monday to Friday
(As per standard processes, subject to shipping line pre-acceptance)

Import Full Container Pick-up: Open 0700 – 1730, Monday to Friday

Export Dries Acceptance: Open 0700 – 1730, Monday to Friday

Please note: Late gate process is available until 2000, Monday to Friday (This is not applicable for Thames Street Depots 1 and 2).

Shipping Operations Update
With mains power back on, effective tomorrow Tuesday 21 February we will be back to 24/7 vessel operations for Napier Port’s container terminal.

At this stage, we are maintaining vessel arrivals and departures to daylight hours only as we work to clear logs and storm debris from the harbour and around the port. We currently have teams allocated to this task full time. We expect to lift this restriction and commence 24/7 vessel arrivals and departures as soon as safely possible.

Additionally, our marine team are still confirming the results of a final survey of our harbour and shipping channel. In the interim, we are working directly with shipping agents to confirm any draft restrictions for vessels calling to Napier.

Eastern Gate and Bulk Cargo Operations
The Eastern Gate is open and ready for 24/7 operations. Log Cart In can commence as soon as the marshalling companies are able to operate their respective scaling stations, as well as undertake marshalling operations on port.

Supply Chain Update
With damage to regional transport infrastructure, including rail and road networks, we are working to ensure cargo keeps flowing across the region. Please do reach out to our logistics team for any assistance.
