Napier Port will be conducting a short test of our emergency warning siren at 11.30am on Tuesday 22 January 2019.
We will be testing the siren located at the top of Higgins’ bitumen tank on port, as part of our emergency response preparedness planning. This siren is part of the system used to advise the public, in any Civil Defence emergencies.
The siren test on Tuesday will be very short – starting at 11.30am and lasting no more than 30 seconds. If you hear the siren sound for 30 seconds at this time, please be assured that it is just a test and not an actual public warning.
We want to make sure this message reaches everyone visiting the port that day, or who may be in the nearby area. If you know anyone who this might apply to, please do let them know. Thanks for your help in getting the word out.
