As part of our commitment to keep everyone safe while working on port, we will be making a change to the back road of the main log yard on Wednesday 29 May at 1200hrs.
This is all part of our log row protection project to mitigate the critical risk of logs falling onto roadways. After the log yard exit, the roadway will become one-way.
Log trucks delivering to the C3 main yard will follow the yellow arrows, as seen above. The current roadway leading to the C3 main yard will be blocked off with concrete blocks – as shown by the green squares.
After being unloaded, the trucks will follow the normal route out of the log yard, via the red arrow.
Any other vehicle needing to use this new roadway must have access to a NP radio channel and must speak to C3 first, on channel “C3 1 Log Contractors”.
Smaller vehicles can use this exclusion zone (current roadway into the yard shown with a blue arrow) and a gate will be positioned at the blue square. For any queries, please speak to General Cargo on generalcargo@napierport.co.nz or 06 833 4435
At the United Nations summit meeting in September 2015, world leaders adopted 17 global goals (and 169 targets) as a set of universal goals that aim to address the urgent environmental, political and economic challenges facing our world. These are known as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
