We have noticed an increase in the number of containers we are handling that are classified as DANGEROUS GOODS.
Our handling requirements for dangerous goods are set out on our website here. You can also download a quick reference guidehere.
Government regulations specify maximum dwell times on port for various classes of dangerous goods. In most cases 72 hours is the maximum permissible dwell time, after which we are in breach of the statutory requirements set out in the Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substance) Regulations 2017 and Environmental Protection Agency guidance.
We also draw your attention to the escalatingdaily charge for cargo that exceeds the maximum dwell time.
We ask that you please plan in advance to ensure that we all comply as a supply chain with the statutory requirements. Please prioritise the collection of imported dangerous goods cargo or the delivery of export dangerous goods cargo within the allowable timeframe.
At the United Nations summit meeting in September 2015, world leaders adopted 17 global goals (and 169 targets) as a set of universal goals that aim to address the urgent environmental, political and economic challenges facing our world. These are known as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
