Temporary closure to Napier Port’s breakwater road due to severe weather
June 26th, 2024
Kia ora everyone,
In the interests of safety, we have temporarily closed the road behind the breakwater. The effects of the swell are causing large pieces of rock debris to land on the roadway which poses a risk to people’s safety. The General Cargo and Security teams are working through a temporary traffic management plan to redirect traffic alongside 2 Wharf, please be mindful of this change and follow any redirection notice in place.
We’ll continue to monitor the situation and when deemed safe to do so, the roadway will reopen after our infrastructure team clear it of debris.
Thank you for your understanding,
David Broad General Manager Assets and Infrastructure
At the United Nations summit meeting in September 2015, world leaders adopted 17 global goals (and 169 targets) as a set of universal goals that aim to address the urgent environmental, political and economic challenges facing our world. These are known as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
