Napier Port Ocean Swim
An event that brings the community together over a love of the ocean – that’s what the Napier Port Ocean Swim is all about.
We’re proud to be primary sponsor of this annual event, which takes place in February during Hawke’s Bay’s popular Art Deco Weekend. The event raises funds for the Napier Aquahawks Swim Club, and the club runs the competition with support from Surf Life Saving New Zealand, Sport Hawke’s Bay and Tri Hawke’s Bay.
It has become a special event for locals and visitors alike, with its celebration of personal challenge, team spirit and a healthy lifestyle. It’s a day when families come together along our beautiful waterfront, supporting swimmers young and old as they brave the waves. We love that this event has a race for everyone, including races for kids and ocean swimming novices, the 1km classic and the popular 2.5km swim.
Napier Port has a tent each year, packed full of staff and supporters. We’re there to soak up the festival atmosphere and encourage race-goers, including Napier Port staff members taking the plunge.
